Australia.Gallery, based at our Lake Street gallery featuring Indigenous art from across Australia, proudly represented Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists at the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) in 2024 and 2025. Our participation highlighted the vibrant paintings and wooden sculptures of Queensland’s First Nations artists, including those from Lockhart River, Malla, and Charlie Chambers Jnr, celebrating their cultural richness and creativity on a premier platform.

At CIAF 2024, held from July 25–28 at the Cairns Convention Centre, Australia.Gallery presented a captivating collection of paintings and wooden sculptures by Queensland artists. Featuring works from Lockhart River, Malla, and Charlie Chambers Jnr, our showcase blended traditional storytelling with contemporary techniques. The paintings, alive with bold colors and intricate narratives, reflected deep connections to Country and heritage. The wooden sculptures, crafted by artists like Vincent Temple, featured coastal themes with meticulously carved dugongs, stingrays, and turtles, resonating with collectors and art enthusiasts.

In 2025, Australia.Gallery returned to CIAF, held from July 10–13 at the Tanks Arts Centre in Cairns, with an exclusive focus on Lockhart River artists. Renowned for their dynamic contributions to Queensland’s art scene, the Lockhart River Art Centre produces some of the state’s most compelling works. Our showcase featured vibrant paintings by artists including Fiona Omeenyo, Rosella Namok, and the late Silas Hobson, alongside intricately crafted wooden sculptures by Vincent Temple depicting coastal-themed dugongs, stingrays, and turtles. These works captivated audiences with their bold compositions and rich cultural storytelling.
