Elena Churilova – Artist Bio

Russian-born and Australia-based, Elena Churilova is an award-winning visual artist known for her intuitive and imaginative approach to oil, pastel, gouache, and watercolour painting. Her work blends reality with fantasy, often inspired by nature, memory, and emotion.

Since relocating to Australia in 2006, Elena has built a strong presence in the national art scene, exhibiting widely and receiving numerous accolades. She has been a finalist and winner in prestigious competitions including the SWELL Sculpture Festival, The Doyles Art Award, The John Villiers Outback Art Prize, and the Bentley Art Prize, among many others.

A member of the National Association for the Visual Arts, Elena’s works are held in private collections across Europe, the USA, Australia, and Russia. Her recent solo exhibitions—IdentitiesEverywhen, and To Australia with Love—reflect her evolving exploration of cultural narrative and personal transformation.

Elena continues to gain recognition for her expressive visual storytelling and her ability to move between mediums with mastery and vision.
