Fiona Omeenyo
Born 18 August 1981, is a prominent member of the Lockhart River Art Gang, a collective of Indigenous artists from Far North Queensland. Her art, inspired by traditional family stories and the landscapes of her homeland, reflects over 60,000 years of Aboriginal culture and heritage. Through paintings, prints, and sculptures, Fiona preserves her ancestral connections while sharing the unity and resilience of her clan groups.
Her work has been showcased internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including Berlin, London, New York, and Switzerland. Key solo exhibitions include “My Story” (2001), “Mepla Sand Beach People” (2008), and numerous shows at Andrew Baker Art Dealer. Group exhibitions span the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, and major galleries in Australia and abroad.
