Born in Gilgandra, NSW, Australia in 1964, and currently living in Atherton, QLD, Australia, Rose completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Highest Honours) with a major in drawing, in 2002 at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, USA. Rose’s childhood passion for art was reignited in her 30s while working in the USA as a registered nurse.
Upon completing her art education Rose Watts was accepted into The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, not for profit art studio space, and created art there for 6 years, participating in Open Studios and a group show “Involution” at M.Y. Art Prospects, NYC, and sold many artworks for private collections, before returning to Australia in 2008. Since then Rose has alternated between art and nursing, until the last 3 years, where she has focused primarily on art, both teaching and making her own using water based mediums on paper.
